Do you think this is mean or am I overreacting?

Are you an adult? Then A- you make your own decisions, and B- you pay for your own trips. If you want to go to the Ukraine, save up and go. If you want to join the Navy, do so. Throwing a temper tantrum and refusing to see them just because you don't get your own way makes you sound like a spoiled 4 year old.
