How do i accept gifts when i won't have money for christmas?

This is why I hate this time of year...I think declaring the fact that you will not be buying gifts and not expecting them either will help, though not totally. You will still get gifts. Then you can send cards, bake cookies, whatever and acknowledge your loved ones. They'll get it, or they won't, but what can you do?
