My mom is trying to get other parents to reinstate corporal punishment for girls in schools!?

I am 17, and this is really embaring. She still s me, but now she is trying to gang up with up parents and restate corporal punishment in schools. I live in California, where it was just made legal. She keeps saying if "girls ever had to bend over for three swats of a paddle, that would teach them immediately." Or "when I was your age, girls would have to put their hands out and get caned on them if they made one spelling mistake." She's just so strict to me; like I said, I still get bare bottom s from her! But this is way too far; all my friends will hate me if they find out she is trying to do this.
