What does it mean if your friend keeps saying this about you and his gf?

well i think that mayb he is trying to putt her off to sum1 he knows likes her alot, more then he does. I mean guys r sumtimes jerks,(no offense, but as said, u shuld knoe) and they tend to do stupid stuff to the ppl they "really" care about or mean alot in their life, and think its ok to do that. And he i/g is also putting her on the backburner soo i think u shuld step up, and mayb tlk to her bout how she feels about it.
